The Map of Ashenridge
Perfect Garbage's "Release News + Dev Log" post gave the first real tour of Ashenridge's layout. This page collects those confirmed locations so you know the lay of the land before launch.
A small town that is bigger than it looks
Ashenridge feels small to its locals, but the developers describe it as "quite large" from a bird's-eye view. Your farm and home sit at the very top of the mountain, and the surrounding wilds include a mountainside, a forest, and a coast with a quiet dock and a sunny beach.
The town's two districts
The town proper is split into two sections, each with its own character:
The Local District
Home to most of Ashenridge's residents and shops. Built by a small community working with the space they had, it is compact and "a little maze-like" - a true local learns the secret shortcuts. Many people live above their shops. The devlog calls out the Fortune Teller (who may bear news about the weather), the Bar (which might host a raucous birthday party), and the shared Community Gardens.
The Commercial District
Mayor Fitch's pride and joy, first envisioned to draw in tourism - and a reminder of just how isolated Ashenridge can be. Here you will find businesses such as S-Mart, the corporate general store, and a well-curated town square with an artistic fountain that anchors multiple events through the year. Fun fact from the team: outside your farm, the Commercial District was the first location they built.
Every home is a place you can enter
The devlog confirms 30+ characters, all living in Ashenridge with unique homes and places to visit - and notes there are "always locations you can break and enter into... just don't get caught." That lines up with the murder-mystery pitch: snooping is a mechanic, with consequences.
Scale, in the developers' numbers
- 300k+ words of narrative written for the game.
- 600+ items to discover.
- 30+ residents, each with a home you can visit.
- Seasons visibly change the world, including how snow and ice alter the environment.
Note: exact building counts and interior maps have not been published as a labelled map yet, so treat district boundaries here as descriptive, not a finished cartographic guide. We will add a proper location map after launch.
For how these places feel after dark, see the day & night cycle, and for the people who live in them, the character tracker.
