Grave Seasons Farming Grid & Seasons Guide
Perfect Garbage's official Farming Systems & Grids devlog gives the most useful pre-release answer to “how does farming work in Grave Seasons?” This page records the published grid rules and keeps crop prices, growth times, and optimal-profit routes open until the game is playable.
Four seasons shape the farm
The devlog confirms a four-season cycle: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. The post also says the game has more than 45 seeds. It does not publish a complete seed catalogue, crop price table, growth timer, or season-by-season profit route, so those are launch-day data tasks rather than facts to fill in now.
Three official farming plot types
Grave Seasons uses three kinds of farming plots. The important practical difference is whether a plot needs watering:
- Arid plots are one of the named plot types in the official grid system.
- Regular plots are the standard named plot type.
- Wet plots do not require watering according to the devlog.
The source does not provide a crop-to-plot compatibility chart. Do not assume that every seed can grow in every plot or that Wet plots are always the best choice until an in-game build confirms those relationships.
How the visible grid works
The team describes a visible farming grid alongside an invisible grid used by the wider world. The grid layers include Items, Crops, NPCs, Objects, Farm Plots, and Doors. That distinction explains why a placement can look free while still being constrained by another game object.
NPCs and the nearby nine squares
The devlog says NPC interaction checks the surrounding nine squares. It also explains that farming and foraging mainly check the player's three squares directly in front. These are the confirmed interaction ranges described by the source; they are not a promise of a universal three-tile tool range for every action in the finished game.
What to record after launch
- Seed name and the season shown in the live build.
- Plot type and whether the crop asks for watering.
- Growth result, harvest amount, and any quality or price information.
- Version, day, and weather conditions for any farming test.
This evidence standard keeps a real Grave Seasons crop guide useful after balance updates. The current official information is enough to plan around seasons, grid layers, and Wet plot watering rules, but not enough to publish a “best crop” spreadsheet.
